The Insurance Council of New Jersey (ICNJ) is a non-profit, insurance research, information and advocacy organization representing 20 New Jersey licensed property/casualty insurance companies. Collectively, ICNJ member companies underwrite 67 percent of automobile insurance policies, 57 percent of homeowners' insurance policies, 56 percent of workers' compensation policies and 55 percent of the commercial insurance in New Jersey.

On January 1, 1999 NJINS expanded its mission and became the Insurance Council of New Jersey (ICNJ).
Our Mission
ICNJ's mission is to create a positive image and understanding of the property/casualty insurance business and to promote a positive business environment through education, public information and communication with the state's media, consumers and public officials.
